Ultrasonic Advisors Measurement Products
Closed Loop Transducer Analyzer (TM)
Ultrasonic Transducer High Power Tester
Product Purpose
The product allows for high power frequency sweeps with constant current, constant voltage, and constant power frequency sweeps for linear analysis of impedance response.
What does the program practically do?
The product is a desktop program which programmatically controls a USB oscilloscope, function generator, and amplifier to perform high power measurements of ultrasonic transducers.
Who needs this product?
High power resonance characteristics strongly differ from low power results. Companies looking for a streamlined solution for high power analytical testing to ensure the quality of their transducers need this equipment.
Often times, a transducer has appropriate low power impedance characteristics, but in high power they severly degrade. This helps to explain why some transducers don't perform according to spec in system testing, but look fine in low power impedance analysis.
How does the product differ from an impedance analyzer?
The device differs from traditional impedance analyzer in that it:
- Readily uses and external amplifier of your choice
- Provides constant power, constant voltage, and constant current frequency sweeps
- Can store an unlimited amount of points
- Can be readily used with a relay multiplexer to test up to 16 devices with one press of a button
- Easily stores full data frequency sweeps, summary data, and graph screenshots either automatically or with a press of a button
What do I need in order to operate the product?
- A linear amplifier
- 10x or 1x voltage probes
- Circuitry with ground side resistor (user selectable)
- PC running Windows
- USB oscilloscope, specifically Picoscope 2406a
- Various BNC connectors and cables
Does this product work at low voltage?
- Yes. it can be used as a low voltage impedance analyzer
